Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Gunnari Auvinen began his career as a system integration and test engineer in 2005 at General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS) in Pittsfield. Over nearly a decade, he developed leadership skills, managed a test lab, and supported guidance system hardware maintenance and testing. After reaching the position of senior system integration and test engineer, he left GDAIS to become a software engineer at Sonian in 2014. Gunnari Auvinen subsequently worked as a professional education and curriculum engineer at Hack Reactor and staff software engineer at Turo.

Gunnari Auvinen joined Labviva in 2020. His duties as a senior technical lead emphasized the development of best-of-breed technologies designed for the mass analysis of scientific materials. He was the primary and sole developer of many production services and apps. In 2022, he became a staff engineer, followed by a promotion to principal software engineer in 2026. In recent years, he has assisted the company with many code reviews, architectural planning, recruiting, and several special projects.

Gunnari Auvinen holds an electrical and computer engineering degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He graduated from the program with honors. In addition to his professional interests in software architecture and distributed systems, he enjoys staying physically active through hiking and weightlifting.
